Developer Mode
The SmartThings app offers a Developer Mode that helps you test your devices and Automations. With the Developer Mode, you can add your deployed devices or Automations in the SmartThings app.
Enable developer mode
You must enable Developer Mode before you can test using the SmartThings app.
Launch the SmartThings app.
Go to Dashboard > Settings.
Long-press About SmartThings for 5 seconds.
Enable the Developer Mode.
Restart the SmartThings app.
You can disable Developer Mode at Dashboard>Settings.
Add your device
If you have deployed your device to test, you can add it in your SmartThings app using the Developer Mode.
Check that Developer Mode is enabled.
Tap Add device on the Dashboard or Devices tab of the SmartThings app.
Go to ADD DEVICE MANUALLY and click My Testing Devices. You can now see and add your self-published devices.
NOTE : If you have your company's Manufacture ID (MNID), you can see and add your self-published devices and also all self-published devices your company's developers have created.Confirm the connection by selecting ALLOW on your device.
Add your automation
If you have deployed your Automation to test, you can add it in your SmartThings app using the Developer Mode.
Check that Developer Mode is enabled.
Go to the Automations tab and click ADD AUTOMATION. You can now see and install your Automations.
NOTE : If you have your company's Manufacture ID (MNID), you can install your deployed Automations and also all deployed Automations your company's developers have created.Tap on the Automation app to install it.
